Gurgling and raspy/UPDATE/ Pretty sure it was the heat.

UPDATE:

I bought the vitamins on my way home from town yesterday but when I got home both of them were back to their normal (annoyingly chirpy and happy) selves. I haven't heard so much as sniff or snort from them since. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was the heat and I came very close to losing the one to over-heating.

Thanks for all the input! Now I have vitamins on hand.

one of my wyandottes was gurlging and raspy this last winter. I put them on every herbal remedy I could thing of...sage, echinacea (not sure how that's spelled), astralagus, then added probiotics, acv, and molasses...mixed it all with some of their pellets, added a little water...they ate it like it was candy. I did this for a few days and she pulled through. I have since had trouble with worms in my flock, but this wyandotte of mine, along with the other one (knock on wood) have sailed through the whole experience with no trouble. Good luck.

I have had sort of the same thing with my adult chickens over the last few weeks. Some who were fine one day had really swollen sinus cavities the next. One swole overnight so bad it looked like its eye had gotten pecked. I gave everyone an injection of tylan 200 in the breast muscle (0.4 cc for hens and 0.6 cc for roosters) on days 1 and three and by day five all were over the sneezing, gurgling, and swelling and acted like it never happened
I have heard from alot of people in southeast Tennessee with their birds essentially having real bad sinus infections this year. I also on day 1 through three put tylan 100 gram powder in their water in the amount of 1 teaspoon per gallon.
