:welcome

Unfortunately now the chick is out of the shel there is little you can do other than hope the bleeding stops. I’m afraid the chick wasn’t ready to hatch yet.

Before the chick hatches it should absorb all the blood from the vessels along with the yolk sac. These are absorbed through the navel area of the chick.

What does the navel area look like now?

Good info here on the hatching process ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching.64660/

The bleeding stopped within a couple of seconds no a lot it’s also hopping around like the others were but is getting picked on :(

Other chicks picking or pecking at the newly hatched ones is quite normal. Yes it can look pretty brutal but it’s a natural thing that they do. After hatch it can take a while for them to get going especially if it’s bled. How long since it came out of the egg?

Only a few minutes then. It can take hours for them to find their feet so try to worry yet. They will blunder about the incubator and look very unsteady but it’s totally normal. They will also have periods of rest where they will just sleep. Hatching is very hard and tiring work for them. My best advice now would be to leave it in the incubator to rest & recover. As the bleeding has stopped it has every chance of being ok.

I had a chick who kicked out of her shell too early while there were still blood vessels attached and ripped the cord. Blood everywhere! I was so scared she was going to bleed to death because it was really a lot of blood for such a tiny baby but luckily the bleeding did stop and after that she seemed ok. I dipped her beak in a tiny bit of sugar water just to regain her strength after the blood loss and.... here she is today, six months later!
