Hey there! I’ve got one standing gravity feeder, and have the materials to build a few PVC no-waste style feeders this summer. I’m also wanting a third feed station for our busy summer flock, and like this idea of an elevated trough feeder... I have a galvanized reel top trough, so I figured I’d have some fun!
I could mount it to a stable raised surface, but am wondering if anyone has had success with hanging troughs? I’m wondering if they might be able to knock it and overturn it if it’s hanging... but I have the materials to try it so I thought it could be fun? It has the spinning top to discourage roosting, but would be hanging from a wooden a-frame that has a corrugated metal rain roof, so roosting shouldn’t be a problem at all...
Has anyone had any luck with something like this, a hanging trough? Our summer flock will grow to 24 birds(currently at 9), and I like the idea of having a variety of feeder styles for the bird to rotate between(or pick their favorite
