hey everyone! Happy to be here. So much great information and a fantastic spot to chat with other chicken people!

How many chickens do I have?
About 37 now. And another 20 in the incubator and some broody hens with more on the way.

I am a Brahma breeder but also starting to breed Wyandottes as well.
Majority of my flock are Brahmas.

I breed as a passion, but also looking to enter some Brahma shows in the future.
We also have an egg laying flock of leghorns and australorps.

Truthfully I am on my way to having an enormous friggen flock and luckily we live on 40 acres in Central QLD, Australia so plenty of space for my chicken dreams to come true

My other hobbies include writing stories, listening to music and I do enjoy a bit of PlayStation.

I live with my hubby and MIL - Our pets include 3 gorgeous cats, my MIL has 5 toy poodles and then all of our chickens and roosters.

I have 5 roosters at the moment but they have their own bachelor pads so my girls live the high life.
We will have more roosters coming too! I love hens - I really do but gosh, roosters are so gorgeous

I do a lot of Instagram posts and reels about my chickens and love inspiring other chicken lovers to try new things.
I also love budget friendly / free hacks for chickens which I also share!!

My hatchery won’t just be for breeding and selling quality chickens but I also have a section focusing on rescue, healing and care.
I do have some hens and a rooster that require extra care and because this kind of naturally happened - I am currently trying to submerge myself in as much information as possible since we do live rural and most poultry issues we have - we treat at home ourselves.

So my personal goal for this place, is to meet loads of people with great information about poultry, breeding and care that will help us to save more little lives and help injured birds live amazing lives!

Can’t wait to chat more with other Brahma lovers and breeders and chicken lovers alike!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I have the same problem with the roosters. 'Gosh! They're so gorgeous'.
I get over that in a split second when he grabs a screaming hen and hops on her. Just like that 🫵, you're OUT!
You obviously need a brahma rooster. They are the gentlemen of the standard rooster world. 🤣 (of course I've heard favorelles are gents also. 😉)

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

I love your intro!

The farmer across the road raises a lot of Brahmas and I raise silkies. A couple of years ago she got the bright idea once to take a little white satanic rooster we were going to cull to see if she could cross them. I'll just say it didn't work, but he's still over there riding her girls. They squat down so he can reach to get up there. :)
