I fostered little Snidget here with her momma, aunt and 5 siblings starting in early September. They came in to the local shelter from a house that had 63 cats living there! Poor Snidget was only 164gm when I brought her home. Her eyes were very crusty and for the first month of her life she struggled to grow gaining less than 100gm the entire month! (Kittens should gain about 12gm per day!) we did all the things: deworming(caused decreased appetite yikes!) separate feeding time with momma so she didn’t have to compete with her bigger siblings, attempted to supplement with bottle feeds(she hated those), supplemented with high calorie bottle feeds(still hated them)…eventually the humane society decided she needed to see a vet and they prescribed an oral antibiotic and eye drops for her goopy eyes. Almost immediately she began to grow. And grow and grow and grow!! Then we discovered we had a flea problem so we had to battle that. We were forced to buy a new kind of food when the store was out of heir regular kind and found out that Hills science diet caused GI upset in this group(thanks so much for that Hills! all the other formulas they tried had been fine). And she also decided to find a hole around the bathtub drain pipe and fall 6 feet into the basement!!(no injuries thankfully) And now she is back at the shelter looking for her new home, but gosh it’s hard to say goodbye to this one!!! (No I can’t keep her myself cuz otherwise I wouldn’t be able to foster anymore)
Anyway, she is now available at the Lincoln County Humane Society in central Wisconsin with her momma, sister and aunt. (The other siblings have all been adopted already)
I hope it’s an amazing person or family that takes her home for the holidays!
