Wow, sounds like you got a bad run!
My little lionhead is a DOLL! He gladly takes naps with me and will play with the smaller dogs and cats. He'll happily play with my chinchillas (even though Id on't think he knows what they are) and they take naps in the day together. He often romps freely with my chickens and doesnt run when I go to pick him up. Ive brought him to work and my boss' 2 yr old son will grab handfulls of fur and skin and drag him and he just takes it (you know how kids are with furry critters). I have TRIED to get him to bite or be aggressive, not even a scratch! He's got great body shape for a lionhead, almost a perfect dwarf rex body. I ws told he's been shown in the past but this was never confirmed and I took it with a grain of salt.

Lionheads are very popular around here and you cant go to a chicken swap without seeing someone selling some and every one of those I've seen has been sweet. None of the breeders here seem to have any trouble with them.

Maybe its training?

Awwwww...both of the bunnies are beautiful

I had quite a few lionheads back when I was breeding them. None of them were mean. And I didn't notice any extra shedding. Mine were kept in hutches and everyday I would put them out in moveable pens on the ground so they could eat grass and lay in it and play. Sometimes the cats would go into the pens to nap with them.
I didn't even have much of a problem clipping nails and brushing them. They would fall asleep in my lap during grooming. It sounds like the lines you were breeding had bad temperments. I'm sorry your experience with them was so bad. Mine was positive.
I have never showed rabbits so I don't know much about judges opinions. Mine were friendly and healthy. Had nice litters and always sold well.
I got out of breeding them because winters are brutal here in NE Ohio by Lake Erie. The rabbits wintered fine, but I don't.

So I sold them out to keep my barn time down in the winter.
