hatch date is Friday! Anyone else? IT HATCHED! PICS********

I have some eggs that are due on Sunday. I'm so excited. All I'm asking for is at least one healty, happy chick. If it was splash, that would be even better!

Good luck with your babies! I know how exciting it is.

I have pictures of the cups and my egg carton.......... still debating on which one to use! Which one should I use?? ughh I hate decisions! lol I think when the chicks hatch the cups will slide everywhere and may cause spraddle leg. I might end up using the egg cartons idk! Need opinions! pros and cons?

Joe,

Don't worry about the egg carton or the cups! The cups are too slick for chicks to walk on.
The Brinsea is soooo easy to clean up afterwards. Just lay the eggs on their sides. But, you need to go to a dollar store or Home Depot and get some rubbery shelf liner. It's sold to put plates and dishes on the shelves in kitchen cabinets. The eggs won't roll and the chicks get a firm grip, no spraddle leg. I also use sand in the brooder for the 1st 2 weeks. No spradle leg & it cuts down on the pasty butt. It's also the perfect chick grit.

Get that humidity UP to at least 60% with the Brinsea. Our relaive humidity in PA dropped last night with the cold front so you'll have a harder time maintaining a higher humidity. Cut cotton cloth and stick it in the wells to wick the water up onto the surface under the plastic grating.

I usually pip on day 19 with silkies

Good luck and I'll be rooting for you.

Brenda, I think I have some! I really want to do this just so that the eggs dont roll around and make the chicks hatching have to change positions in the eggs. I just cut a piece of the grippy stuff and put it on the black mesh thingy? I dont have to clamp it down with something? Im going get it now ohh and do you have a picture of it in your bator? SOOO excited!!!!!!!!!
