Hatcheries or chicks for sale near Charlotte, NC???

Anyone know of any hatcheries near Charlotte, NC or know where I could buy some female chicks?

as far as i know there are none near charlotte

i live in york sc here and shook poultry is closest to me here and they are in claremont nc

and another hatchery right down the street from them also and they sell chicks there but shook doesnt have any chicks at this time from what their site says

what kind of chicks are you looking for exactly? i have chicks here that were just hatched 3-4 days ago but im also an hour away from charlotte

good luck with finding one near you though like i said closest is in claremont nc

Thank you for the info. We just need two pullets that are egg layers and are friendly. We have them mainly as pets and have lost two recently (and almost another one last night- Yikes!) I've spent all day doing reinforcements to the chicken run & coop to make it fox proof. Something(s) getting to them by pulling their legs underneath the cage where there's just a small opening. Two fox kits I think are the culprits. We are new to this chicken raising thing and I guess I'm learning the hard way. My 7 year old son LOVES his pet chickens.
Unless we loose anymore (we only have four), I may wait until the spring to see how we manage through the winter. I'll let you know if I reconsider. Thanks for the kind offer.

If you find one let me know. I live in Mt Ulla, NC and Im looking too. My neighbor is hatching RIR if you are interested. They started hatching yesterday. I am looking for Polish Chickens and Silkies. Keep me posted.

There's a bunch for sale on Craigslist, but there's also shook poultry (www.shookpoultry.net). I don't know anything about them, so I can't vouch for them... but I'm sure you can find some layers on charlotte.craigslist.org in the farm/garden section. Good luck!

I live in Waxhaw, NC and have a flock of silkies. Was thinking about hatching some chicks this spring, but wasn't sure how quickly I could sell them. If there is any interest I will most definitely do it! Just let me know
