Open Contest Hatching Fowl Photo Contest—16th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

Here’s a very Jurassic park-esque photo of a banevelder hatching . It frightens me how big the chicks feet are … 😅

Entry #3 my two assisted hatch Easter eggers! Broody Mama left the nest with their siblings that hatched before them. Leaving them pipped and cold, luckily they were still alive when I found them.

These are my blue and blue/black splash Jersey Giants that hatched on April 16, 2025. There are four cochins still inside their eggs, and you can see the last JG still has his shell as a belt.
The closest chick was the first to hatch, and she was the only one to make noise while still inside her egg. She talked with to me through her shell for 24 hours prior to hatching. It was the most adorable thing! She would peep right back whenever I would talk to her. She still does! My husband wants to name her Trumpet because she is so loud, but I'm not sold on that.
The splash baby was the second to hatch and she imprinted on me. I've named her Bo Derek. IYKYK.
And the third hatched I think is a cockrell. He is probably going to be stuck with Hannibal as his name, as he bites me when I hold him. He doesn't fight to get away, and will just jump on my hand, but he bites me the entire time I hold him.
