Hi. We live in Los Angeles and are about to move to a property with an HOA that doesn’t allow poultry. We are beyond heartbroken about this as our 5 hens are truly our pets. How do we go about rehoming them to someone who can give them a great life?

When I put mine on craigslist farm and garden section I practically have people beating down my door. The pet section *may* also be an option.

Depending on their age and laying condition you could ask a decent price for them which *sometimes* helps show the commitment of the new keepers. In addition you could ask for a photo of the coop and or set up (including dimensions/square footage) and discuss the conditions they will be placed in.. such as (daytime) free range or confined, any other chickens already present, do they have dogs and are they predator savvy with nightime protection from raccooons and the like, etc.

I'm not on facebook.. but according to my current understanding, there may be options for rehoming on there as well.

Best wishes for finding a home you are comfortable with and also on your move! :fl
