it was around 4.36 dollars a dozen . So I think I can get at lest 2.75 for a dozen around town . We have around 60 hens

Walmart has a huge customer base. Are other farmers selling eggs in your area that would compete with you?

Yeah our local grocery store chain sells the same cage free veg fed organic eggs. But then a lot of people seel them too everyone seems to do well.

We live in a rural area there are a lot of people that have chickens but most do not run a lot of chickens my wife takes them for sale she gets 2.75 at times .
Still 4.36 is a lot for 12 eggs

The problem isn't what WalMart gets for their fancy eggs, but what they get for plain old egg eggs.

Sometimes, eggs sell for as little as 99 cents. That is an issue in the minds of many people who are driven by price alone. Plus, if an area gets glutted with people selling eggs, sometimes the local market just cannot bear much over $2. Local market conditions and your skill in networking and marketing will determine what you can charge.

Definitely agree but some of these big box stores are "suppose" to be cheaper and when I see a price like that from the it makes me cringe for some reason. Any other store or market it wouldn't phase me.
