Head comb difference?

First let me apologize for no pics to go with this post but I will add them later. We got all our chicks at the same time and they are now about 10 weeks old. We ordered just hens (Rhode Island Reds). I've started to notice a couple of them have more pronounced combs, taller than the others. Is this a sign of a rooster or do some head combs grow faster than others? Thanks for your time!

Some girls will develop their combs faster and mature faster. I've never had RIR but my bantam girls combs started to sprout from 10 weeks onward. They should still have tiny wattles. Anything with a huge comb and dangling wattles is likely to be a boy.
