Hi I’m oxydized hens! Although you can just call me Oxy. I grew up around chickens on my family farm. My mum would breed show quality chickens and nowadays I help around with managing all the chickens we have and our little Guinea flock!
I currently have around 55 chickens and 5 Guinea fowls
We have white, buff, cuckoo, blue, and black Orpington’s on our farm. Along with black and blue Pekins (some with copper lacing) as well as a small amount of black and blue Pekins!
My favourite aspects about raising and owning backyard chickens is their social nature and how funny and adorable they are to watch
I absolutely love sewing dresses and bags, infact I’m currently making my first ever ball dress! I also quite enjoy drawing, gardening, and learning about nature and all types of animals!
I am currently a full time student! Although I am looking for a part time or casual job. I am doing Tafe which I’m doing a certificate 2 in conservation and ecosystem management currently. My parents and I live on a beef farm but it’s my mums and I’s hobby to breed show chickens. And both my siblings are currently staying up at
I found BYC through all the times I would be looking for a awnser relating to my chickens and I saw how sweet the community was and decided to join it after awhile!

You've already learned that BYC folks are willing and able to answer most any questions. Now, for the real fun -- you can participate in conversations and contests with people who, like you, truly appreciate and enjoy chickens.

Certification in conservation and ecosystem management sounds amazing!

Welcome to BYC!

Hi, it's nice to meet you! Any time you'd like to share pictures of your flock, I'd like to see them.
