Hello everybody, nice to meet you all.

I am new to owning chickens, so any help is useful. I currently have five chicks: one is a black silkie, I don't know the others' breed, but I can't seem to remember right now, three whites, and one brown with a white face. I know at least one of them is a cockerel.
It is my partner and I who are looking after them, we have built their secure coop and run, and during the day, they will have access to the back garden as well. I must admit, up until the beginning of this year, I would have never expected to have chickens as pets, but I love them!
Some of my other hobbies include Warhammer, cars and Ice Hockey.
I have 2 kids and a loving brindle and white Greyhound.
I have only recently located BYC via Reddit, but I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

We have a Learning Center with tons of articles about raising chicks and chickens. Something in there might help you. If you have problems or questions, hit the Forum tab above, find the forum it fits in and post away!
