I'm so glad to be here!! looking forward to the wealth of knowledge I can gain from everyone.
I'll introduce myself by letting you know where I live and answering the sample questions.
I live in a small town in northeast Pennsylvania called Drums, on a farm that my husband and I inherited from his parents.
1) We got our first chickens in 2011, and never looked back.
2) Right now we have 20 hens.
3) We have Barred Rock hens, Rhode Island Red, Leghorns, Black Sex Links, and one exotic one, but I have no idea of her breed! I'll post a picture of her, so someone can help me
4) I found out about backyardchickens.com while doing a google search looking for peahens for sale. My peacocks are looking for mates!
5) Some of my other hobbies include, repairing and restoring antique phonographs, beekeeping, horseback riding and breeding fainting goats.
6) I recently became a grandmother, our grandson is just shy of 2 weeks old. Our son is 30, and lives in North Carolina, our daughter is 28, and lives close by, in a town named Freeland. (she's the mother of our grand baby)
I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 5 horses, 3 miniature donkeys, and around 40,000 honeybees, as well a chickens, ducks and peacocks.
