New member here! I've read your forum for many years and fortunately have not needed to post any concerns. I live in the city with my small flock of hens and also three dogs. I come from a large farming family, but was raised in the city. Every summer we spent with our grandparents at their full cattle farm where they made their living. We worked the hundreds of acres with a nice river. My dad took over the farm when he retired from the military. As soon as I had the opportunity in my older years, I started to farm my city plot. Fortunately I live in a part of the city where they haven't developed all the land.
I plan to participate on this forum and will continue to read all the great posts. I love animals and can respect the issues and different approaches to raising chickens. Hopefully I may help someone.
I have three ladies, two Barred Rocks and one Golden comet. I rescued the comet rom a neighbor's pet snakes' dinner, so we call her Lucky. My barred rocks are Harriet and Jamie. I have lost two previously, named Lavender and Bo.
My girls are spoiled rotten and think they are part of my dog's group. It's very heartwarming to be greeted with love and excitement on a daily basis.
