Hello all! We're a first time chick keeping family having (unexpectedly) rescued 1-2 week old hatchlings from a school egg hatching scheme. We have four females (we're suburban, so we cannot keep roosters). They're set up in an open top cardboard box brooder, with access to a dog cage "run" during the day.
We're in love... but (as all new parents) still in the phase of "what have we done?!"
One of our little chicks has been unwell the past week with crop issues (she is only three weeks old), so we've been getting up to speed with chicken anatomy and treatments. Hence, how we found BYC, through a helpful article on the subject. Looking forward to learning and sharing our experiences with you all.
