Hello From Oregon!

I am new to this forum, we are in the center of Oregon in 'Central Oregon'. Not new to chickens, but new interests in how we feed them more naturally (non-GMO, organic, fermented/soaked diet, ect). We are novice homesteaders and expanding our knowledge in all things. We currently have a flock of 17 beautiful hens(no rooster) who seem happy & healthy and are super productive for us in return for our loving care.We raised 4 ducks(all drakes) this year, 1st time, and had no idea until too late that male ducks will mount hens!! UGH! Now that we've separated them, the hens are happy again... It's a win-win! I want to start doing the 'deep litter' method in their coop before winter hits. I have many topics I want to learn about here, so Thank you in advance!

I'm glad you found out that drakes can be harmful to hens before they could injure your hens.
