Hello, Momma of 23 flutter hounds in SE Wisconsin

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

So sorry about your lost and sick ones. I hope you get some answers!

I'm probably a couple of hours NW of you, so be sure they are all tucked in for the next couple of nights as the windchills are projected to be -35F, quite deadly.

If you get time to come say "Hi," we have a Wisconsin Cheeseheads forum. Not hugely lively but we can all whine about the weather there. :)
We keep the furnace thermostat set so that the coop room and the rest of the ground level of the barn sits between 55-65F depending on how bad the cold seeps through the windows. Keeping them warm is one worry we don't have to deal with thankfully.

We heat ours too, just to 40F, so it's not such a shocker if they come out and go back in five times a day, which they do. It's nice their water nor eggs never freeze in there. I can't say that in some of the other pens, but they just have a cozy coop in their hutches. Those can't heat an area, but is warm for them to stand/sleep by.
