HELLO MY POULTRY PEEPS

My name is Rusty.

I've had chickens for 40 years in one way or another.

My son, 13 has been messing with them. This last go round we had the chickens before the proper housing/run space sooo we got rid of all the birds.

We have been planning a new COOP, we just finished the run, 60x60, plus most of the time they can roam 3 acres at least.

My 23 year old daughter died a few weeks ago so in trying to help my son move forward and "deal with it", we have decided to start right away.

I've built houses all of my life. This new Coop will be embarrassingly nice. ️I WANT TO POINT OUT that for someone just starting out, that may read this in the future, you do not need as much as we are building️ This Coop may be re-purposed by my grandchildren in the future for any number of animal species or who knows what.

So, I thought I would share our Coop build start to finish and make it detailed for someone just beginning or the first time they've built anything.

So I'll start that thread today.

I don't know everything and learn something new everyday but if it's house related and you need help reach out. I'll help all I can.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your daughter. Sometimes you never get over a loss. You some day learn to live with it. And it take a lot longer than you realize until you go through it. Starting up a flock of chickens with all that comes with them will be good therapy.
