Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

You're a great person to keep caring for Millie as she ages. Hopefully, your husband will change his mind. If the garden is part of the issue, you can put chicken wire around it to keep Millie out of it. That's how we keep a garden or the chickens would ruin it.
