I am letting my fawn and white runner Hatch her own eggs naturally. We only have her and one white pekin drake. I have candled the eggs every few days. Some of the eggs had looked as of they were further developed than others. Thus may have been because she was determined sitter before she was done laying eggs and that she made a thick impressive nest. These are 2 pics of some eggs that I am not sure if they are alive because they are completely dark and it looks like they are a few days from hatching whereas the others still look like they are in the 14 day range. HELP are these alive and close to hatching!!!!

:welcome Those eggs appear to be viable, but they still have a way to go. If you are expecting a staggered hatch be prepared that she may leave the nest within 24 - 36 hours after the first duckling hatches. Have a 'Plan B' in mind for the rest of the eggs or remove the ducklings and brood in the house until the hatch is complete. Good luck for a successful hatch.

Thx so much! Do you have any idea how long to go, because I am pretty sure those same eggs I could see veins last thursday and movement. Most of the other seem to be on the same schedule to where I can see movement and veins. I was really wondering of they were close because I was worried that they would hatch way before the others.

I'm bad at guesstimating , but by the time they are ready to hatch generally the entire egg is darkened, and veining is no longer visible.

Oh okay, I'm gonna guess that they are maybe a few days from hatch because in person most of the egg is dark except for the air sac and some next to it and I can no longer see veins.
