Question in title. I've got a broody quail who has not started molting like the other hens. I want to give her some eggs to hatch but I need to know if she might quit halfway in order to molt.

If she is truly broody a tornado could come along and she won’t get off. Most birds pull feathers for a nest so if she has done that as well, I doubt she will molt. But nature can never be underestimated

Thank you, that's very good to know. So far, she's had to put up with me checking in on her and other hens trying to "borrow" her nest. No feather pulling, but the nest is lined with feathers from the other birds' molts. I'm putting a fine netting up across the aviary tomorrow to give her some space.
