Help - Chicken at Deadly Nightshade Berry

I’m not sure who’s around this evening.
Let’s see if someone replies:
Tomorrow maybe dig that plant up and get rid of it.

Done! I've been keeping a close eye on that area as there are a lot of this plant that grows there. This year most were blocked by grass, and I dug up every one that I saw. This plant was only about 8" tall and hidden in the last remaining grass around a few wildflowers.

How’s she acting?
So far, she's seeming fine. She's recovering from mites, too (I've been doing heavy cleaning and lots of Diatomaceous Earth), along with just beginning her molt, so she's in a fairly stressed state. I'll keep checking on her, but so far, so good. Thanks for the quick response!

Just saw this thread....if you want to use charcoal this is how, charcoal binds with the toxin so that it can't be absorbed into the digestive tract.
Mix 1 tsp activated charcoal into 8 oz pure water and dose 6 to 8 times daily, I just give as much as I can get them to take in a sitting.
Make sure she's taking in plenty of fluids no matter which flush you use, they all can be dehydrating.

Did you use something other than DE for the mites?
Only DE. They seem to be greatly reduced. The molt is helping. I also really cleaned everything and DE on the other girls, too. I might need to go more severe if they keep up. But wanted to go the least toxic method first.

DE will not get rid of the mites. Poultry dust is one of the least toxic ways to get rid of mites.

Many birds eat nightshade berries, it's how the plant turns up everywhere! I have it here, and pull it out and bag it up whenever found, BUT it's still available to my chickens all late summer and fall, because it come up so fast. Nobody here has had a problem. Your bird is likely just fine.
I find that it comes up under trees were wild birds drop the seeds, and in disturbed soil if it's damp. Apparently the seeds are viable for a VERY LONG time!
