My 3-year-old Orpington Goldie passed away today very suddenly no idea why could you guys, please help me figure out what caused it?
She was fine Saturday but seemed off yesterday evening and then passed suddenly today
Sunday evening when I went out to put the birds away (they were free ranging in my yard) I found her laying down in a corner of the run, I looked her over and couldn’t find anything wrong and when I set her down she stood and walk around a little on her own making normal noises I didn’t see her eat or drink anything, but I figured it wasn’t a huge deal cause she’d been out with the other birds all day, later that night I went out to double-check I’d locked up the run and coop and found her back in the corner of the run while everyone else was asleep in the coop, I should have brought her inside, but it was late, so I settled her in the coop figured I’d check on her in the morning.
Today went out to take care of the birds very early all of them were still asleep in the coop except her, she’d wandered back out of the coop at some point and laid down in the run, I brought her inside and looked her over again but other than being a little tired and not wanting to walk she seemed alert and almost normal couldn’t get her to eat or drink anything, but I used a syringe to get her to drink some water and then settled her in a crate in the house for the day when I came home from work she seemed about the same I picked her, and she had a seizure (jerked flapped her wings) and passed away :(
Symptoms:
Her eyes were bright open and alert until she passed, and her comb was bright red
Her breathing sounded off, and she was breathing through her mouth but no smell coming from her crop
Her poop was very watery and yellow (no picture sorry)
She just seemed a little down (she had her feathers a little fluffed up) and like she didn’t want to walk
I have no idea what she was sick with could you guys, please help I’m worried the rest of the birds in my flock could get sick :(

I'm sorry about your hen, it's tough to lose one like that.

The only way to really know more about her decline would be to either refrigerate the body and send it to your state lab for testing or if you are up to it, you can perform your own informal investigation to see if you find anything obvious.

You can find your state lab listed below.
