HELP! Duck 3rd eyelid stuck

My 1 say old ducklings 3rd eyelid (the lid they use underwater) is stuck in the middle of his eye, this happened to one of my other duckling I was raising last year and he passed a few days after. He is acting normal right now, but I’m scared that he won’t make it. His water eyelid is also very visible in the corner, whereas my other ducks it doesn’t appear unless they blink. Does anyone know what this is? I can’t seem to find anything online about it, does anyone have any advice to help him. For now I am going to separate him from the other ducklings. Any advise would help.

Can you rinse the eye with saline eye wash or water? @Miss Lydia may have other suggestions.

That’s what I’d do use a saline wash recipes on line for eyes and keep it moist so it doesn’t dry and stick to the eye ball. Veterycin has a a gel type stuff for eyes that might help too. Don’t think the worse just do what you can!

Thank you so much! I dunked his head in water last night and will carry on for the next week, it’s no longer there, but if it appears again I will for sure rinse the eye with saline

That is great. Most duck owners have a container of clean water for the ducks to clean their faces off.

Awesome ! Def make sure he has a bowl deep enough to keep his face washed. It's very important for keeping eyes and nares clean.
