Help! Ducklings stuck in drainage!

There’s a group of 8 ducklings stuck in a drainage pipe. It’s about three feet deep but the tunnel continues out parallel to the ground and they keep running further into it when I go into it. The current plan is to wait for them to come to the opening, plug the bigger hole, and scoop them out. Does anyone have a Muscovy mother duck call? Maybe they would be attracted to it. I tried to find some on YouTube but it wasn’t very clear.

Other ideas to get them out are appreciated! The drainage is also 5 feet off shore, so I’m very precariously balanced on the edge. It’s also pitch black out.

Until you get someone better to answer you hopefully soon I would try making any duck sound if possible to try to draw them to you. Good luck-Hope you get them out!

I called the firefighters and they said that the drainage leads to another lake. Problem is that they’re not leaving that way cause the mother is calling to them and even if they did go to the other lake, there’s no mother there to protect them. I don’t know if I should try to flush them out or not since I don’t know exactly where it leads.

I managed to grab one before the firefighters put the grate back on. I feel really bad for only having one, it keeps chirping and I feel like it needs company. They said I shouldn’t take the grate off again, even if it is to get more. Should I give it back to the mother? I doubt it’ll survive the night if I do.
