I have a hen who is definitely sick with something. She has been lethargic for a day or two now and yesterday she was just laying on the ground in the coop (our chickens free range). I went and got her and she some poop stuck to her feathers around her bum so I gave her an epsom soak for about 15 minutes and kept her in a bin with hay over night. Today I have been feeding/giving her water with a syringe. She has finally pooped (first one VERY watery, second one a little more like a poop, last one very small and yellow a little runny). She can stand and has taken a few steps but really just lay downs no matter where I put her. I have posted a picture. This picture is from tonight, her second night in the house. Thank you in advance!!!!

Welcome to BYC. How old is she? Does she lay eggs? Since she is new and having runny poops, I would start her on some Corid, just in case of coccidiosis. What color is the light material in her dropping, white or yellow? Corid dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5 days.

She is about 2 years old. She has not laid an egg in about 3 months! I would say it’s mainly yellow but some white in it! Thank you!

Her dropping is definitely not normal. I would wonder if she has a reproductive infection, I would give her Corid, and try to find an antibiotic for her as well. Amoxicillin is good, but may be hard to find without a doctor. Enrofloxacin is also good and can be obtained here:

Enrofloxacin 10% liquid dosage is 0.1 ml per every 2.2 pounds twice a day, for 5 days.

She probably is also molting which can be hard on them. Check her skin all over and under her belly for any mites or lice. Is her crop mostly empty in the early morning before she gets food or water? Or does it feel firm or squishy?
