This year some of my hens went through a harder molt. They started off staying inside in a quiet corner for a couple of days and then headed out once they were feeling better.

What % protein is her feed?@Eggcessive @Debbie292d @HollowOfWisps She's also very wobbly. She is very weak and lays on her side a lot.
I've never had one do that, and all I can think of is I'd be doing exactly the same thing you are in hopes it's just a vitamin deficiency.@Eggcessive @Debbie292d @HollowOfWisps She's also very wobbly. She is very weak and lays on her side a lot.
I think it is 16%.What % protein is her feed?
I don't think I can. None of the vets near me do poultry.I've never had one do that, and all I can think of is I'd be doing exactly the same thing you are in hopes it's just a vitamin deficiency.
Can you get a vet to do a fecal float test in case she's got worms or something else? That would confirm, too, if she does have coccidiosis. I've never wormed mine in 8 years, but if I was out of options on one of them, I sure would.
I would switch her to a 20% feed right away. If she is going through a hard molt 16% is going to be way too low for her to be able to stay healthy. I would also put her on Poultry Cell which is a lot more comprehensive in its vitamin profile than nutridrench.I think it is 16%.
I would use one of these as these are the two most users here use.I don't think I can. None of the vets near me do poultry.
How would you go about deworming her?
Okay! Will do!I would switch her to a 20% feed right away. If she is going through a hard molt 16% is going to be way too low for her to be able to stay healthy. I would also put her on Poultry Cell which is a lot more comprehensive in its vitamin profile than nutridrench.
