Help me find a coop!

If you are set on a traditional coop, check out Craig's list with the "include nearby areas" checked. Chickens were a fad here among urbanites due to Martha Stewart and obviously are not for everyone, so you often find people just giving coops away.

This one is only $400 and looks well built, if you don't mind driving out to Lancaster to get it. It looks pretty hefty, so you'd need to bring some muscle and a pickup truck.

Not sure if you wanted to eventually look into it, or if it would work for you. But people make mobile chicken 'coops' out of pvc piping.

How many chickens so you have? Are they bantams? I thought in your first post you said you had 15 and you wanted two coops each for half the flock.

The coop I posted was, I thought, a bit on the small side (at 4x4) for half the flock, but you are getting two coops that are smaller? Anyway, I am curious what you found, please post pics!

You got me looking on Craig's List, and I found a few fabulous wooden playhouses that would make wonderful coops. Many playhouses are built to come apart with bolts holding the walls together, so you could move them in the future. One cute one is only $75!

I have not done this myself, but if you get like 3inch piping, it does get pretty thick. All you do is drill holes in it so you can bolt the hardware cloth/hex netting onto it.
