So my dad brought home 2 baby chicks from the feed store, not sure how old but they’re still completely yellow, to live with my house chicken for a bit so she doesn’t get depressed and lonely while she recovers. But they do not get along, anywho I had to rearrange their pen to bring in another chicken that got attacked and is recovering. But the chicks managed to lodge themselves in between the fence and a box while I was in the other room! They’re covered in poop, shivering and are just super cold to the touch. I’ve tried to warm them up a bit and they’re separated and laying against a heater rn. Is there anything else I can do for them?? I don’t want to give them a bath cause I’m worried it will make them even colder

Baby cicks need a heat source for the first 3-4 weeks of their life. Put them in a card borard box with towels for bedding and a heat lamp hanging over one third of the box, so they will be able to choose the right temperature.

They need chick feed with 20-22% protein and a water dispenser for baby chicks or else they may drown in the water dish.

Until you get everything set up for them you can use a warm water bottle covered with a towel so they can snuggle up to get warm again. Be careful not to cook them though as they are very delicate for the first few weeks.

Change the towels daily as well as the water, and after one week they will know what their feed is and you can change the bedding to soft wood shavings.

Post some pictures of the chicks abd your set up for us.

If you need to bathe them to get the poop off them, use a hair dryer on warm/low setting to dry them off, they'll love it after they get used to it. Don't hold the dryer too close and keep the air flow moving back and forth very quickly so you don't overheat them.
