Help save my Hen

OK - I have separated her (put inside a large dog crate inside of the coop) and I gave her 20 mg of amoxicillin (oral) attempted to clean the wound as best I could (I just got off work and don’t have time to go to the store tonight) I used the last of the triple antibiotic cream I had. I will go the store in the am and buy saline solution and more triple antibiotic cream. She is still eating and drinking and she laid another egg! She has ribs showing in the wound. I have never in my life seen a more horrific wound! I can’t believe she is still alive but I am going to do my best to keep her alive. I will keep her separated and clean and pray! Thank you for all your help and information.
I will post more pics tomorrow- I didn’t have anybody to help me tonight

I learned on this site you can make your own saline solution if that's something you would like to try. Salt and water. 1/2 tsp salt in boiling water til dissolved then cool

Amoxicillin dose is 57mg per pound of weight given orally twice a day for 7-10days. I would weigh her and adjust the dosing accordingly.

Goodness, poor lady. Keep at it with the care you’re giving her and watch that she isn’t showing signs of lethargy or reluctance to eat/drink. Even with the ribs showing, she has made it this far, there is definitely hope for her to fully heal, although it may take a while. Slathering the wound in ointment will help it feel better for her as it won’t be so dry and stiff feeling. It will also offer a protective barrier from dirt and bacteria. Keep us updated on her.

She is still limping and picking at her side until it bleeds - I am out of powdered amoxicillin and all I have left is the bubblegum flavored amoxicillin that my grandson did didn’t take - it is not expired but I don’t know if the flavoring is poisonous to the turkey

How is her wound looking? She is past the 7-10 days of taking it, unless it’s still infected I wouldn’t think she still needs an antibiotic. Can you some how wrap her wound so she won’t pick at it?
