Hello,
Could anyone help with sexing my cream legbar chick please ? They are meant to be autosexing but am still not sure. From what I understood, males are meant to have a yellow dot on their head, which mine doesn't have, however she ( or he ) doesn't have dark markings like the photos I've seen of females.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks 😊

Thank you for this post! I'm having the same issue with mine. Out of 6 eggs I only had one hatch. I thought it was a cockrel at first but not sure. I thought autosexing chicks would be easier lol

I got 4 legbars from a hatchery a few weeks ago - two were dark in color with head spots and two lighter than those chicks, with no head spots. They all ended up feathering in salmon colored breasts, so I’m pretty confident that now, at 3 weeks, they’re all female.

The chicks first photo is enough, but the others confirm it. Your chick is definitely an Oliver. The white spot on the head is a key, as are the strong black and white barring on him as he grows. That comb will probably start getting more prominent soon! :)

Dang! Oh well...hopefully all the others dont turn out to be roos too...I don't think i have room for more than one or two more roos. I saw the dot, but was hoping the dark stripe(almost chipmonky) might override? ...wishful thinking. 😝 I'd love to have a CL roo, but I have possibly two lt. brown leghorn roos popping up too...and a black astrolorp thats lookin very roo-ish...heck...all 7 of my varied chicks are chest bumping and doin the standoff stare at each other...I need some layers!!!! 😭😭😭😭

Thanks for the ID...guess i rolled a set of very loaded dice! ...what are the odds? 😝
