HELP! Sick hen diarrhea and crop hadn’t emptied.

@1lilappy, I hope your hen recovers. You are getting good advice here.

@azygous, I'm sorry for the loss of your hen. We also lost a lovely hen overnight on Christmas Eve (who I had just convinced my parents to cull if not improved). It sounds like you do a marvellous job with yours to have so many older flock members. :love
 
She died. RIP Frankie.

Biggest lesson learned was hybrids don’t live long and bred to produce fast and die young. Wish I knew that before I brought any home.

I really liked Frankie, she was my favorite from the start.

I’m sorry to hear about Frankie. :( I took on six hybrids in June 2018, formerly caged ‘battery hens’ here in the UK, and I only have one of the six remaining. They were just bred to lay a lot of eggs in a short space of time and not for longevity sadly.
