HELP! What do I feed baby killdeer

I need help figuring out what to feed little baby killdeer.
I was at a local park when I stumbled across a dead killdeer next to its nest with one single egg in it. I took the egg and put it in my incubator and I’m planning on raising it and releasing it back to the park I found it at. I’ve candled the egg and it’s showing steady growth.

So what should I feed it once it hatches?

It is against the law, but better to hatch the egg and release than not. Just keep quite about it. There are not enough killdeer, I use to have a lot and they return to my area every year we sit cones around so we don't run over the nest. However my killdeers started to disappear, then found my neighbors dog finding the eggs and eating them.

The killdeer but but now that you mention it, a leash might be handy.

A wildlife rehab will be better able to care for a young chick and prepare it for rerelease into the wild. Wild birds are difficult for a layperson to care for properly and even if they manage to keep the young bird alive, there's a good chance the bird will be imprinted upon humans which is dangerous for any wild animal and it won't know how to fend for itself. A wildlife rehab will provide an orphaned bird the best chance at survival

Ya but the thread is almost 4 years old and at the time it was just an egg in the incubator.
The recent post was about the lack of killdeer in their area because of a dog eating the eggs and chicks.
