Help!! What to feed a baby peacock??

Feeding game bird starter is the best thing if you have several different kinds of chicks. It sure won't hurt them. Silkies grow a lot of feathers fast so the extra protein is fine for them also.
Everyone is trying to figure what to feed the peafowl? Feed high protein crumbles, Game bird feed, they will learn to like it. Hard boiled eggs are good but remember that the crumbles are a proven all around feed and the other things you feed are more or less "treats". They love it but it's not really a healthy diet if that's all they get.
Hope this helps. Plenty of clean water too, in this heat I am adding electrolytes.

My peachicks are 5 weeks old and are healthy and happy. I feed them medicated chick starter mixed with a little bit of chicken scratch (cracked corn, millet, etc) and wild game bird pellets, and sprinkled with freeze dried meal worms (which they absolutely love). During the day I give them a treat of toasted bread crumbs (that I make from bread that is no longer super fresh but still good) and a sprinkle of salad greens that I shred in the blender. They seem to be picky eaters (unlike my chicken chicks) but whatever they don't eat during the day is collected and given to the chickens (they will eat almost anything.)

I am thinking of grinding up some dry catfood and mixing it in with their feed. The adult peafowl love the dry catfood so I assume the peachicks will too!

I also add a little bit of vinegar to their water and am sure to keep their water fresh every day.

Medicated chick starter feed for sure and I like the hard boiled eggs and the marble trick to help with hydration.. My baby chicks all went for the water bottle right away but didnt start to scratch for food until mom showed them how

Hello!

Does anyone know what age baby peacocks begin to fly?

Thank you!
Within days they can climb up onto a roost with momma.

Hello KsKingBee!

Thanks for your response. More specifically, at what age will a baby peacock be able to fly up to a tree in order to evade a trapper equipped with a net...? These little guys are about 2 1/2 weeks old.

Hi All!
I have a week-old baby peacock. He has been eating gamebird chick starter, but doesn't seem to like it much. What else can I safely feed him??? I am afraid of giving him the wrong thing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hope you all have a GREAT DAY!!

Mine simply love mealworms

Never had one...but while doing all my research on “YouTube university” (get it 🤓) I found a channel called : A chicken named Albert.

this dude saves everything, and their a video on what he feeds his peacock baby, and how he helped her after she ate too much.
