help. where to buy plastic edge guard for cut welded wire?

Klubbertanz sells them, and Randall Burkey, too (I think they only have the red ones, though).
 
You can get door guard at Walmart or any auto store that works the same as the wire edge guard, usually cheaper. That is what I use on all my cages. I don't like the chrome look one, I use the black or whatever color they have available. Hope this helps!
 
I normally have the edges of my hardware cloth secured to a piece of wood. Openings like doors and windows are framed in, for stability and security.

I can save you cash. Use metal corner bead. That is what drywall installers use to form the corners.

Just cut to length, bend it closed over the exposed edge of the welded wire and crimp in place with pliers.

Here it is on my rabbit cages.
