Hen attacked by dog

She needs the nutrients of her regular feed. Try making a mash of it by adding enough water to make it like cooked oatmeal. Throw a few mealworms in it to entice her, and stop giving the mealworms otherwise.
Will do, thanks so much for your reply. She is staying in our garage. Do you think i should move her inside so she isnt alone? We dont have a cage so not sure how i would keep her contained though.

I do, but she can easily hop out. I have a box set on its side in our garage, which she crawls into at night. But i think maybe she would be happier inside where she isnt so isolated.
Yeah, I figured, my hen was very tired so she just gave up... Do you have like a child or pet house fence? Or maybe put old towels down in a spare room, closet (with light and air) or mudroom.

I actually used to have a pet fence. I just need to find it, lol. Our house is so small i dont have a spare room. But i could probably put her in a kitchen nook, i'll just need to move some furniture around. I would think if she is going to be able to heal, it would be around 2 weeks. She just isnt eating very much.

Yes, or a local pet store has it. You should definitely invest in a pet carrier as it could be really helpful in situations.

How did this hen do?
I apologize for my late reply! Its been hectic lately and just now checked this website. She is doing great! I put her fully with the flock 2 days ago, and so far all.is well. I was worried because i tried a few times to let her back in with them, and she ran around attacking them all. I figured she might feel vulnerable still and it was just a self defense mechanism. But then i put her in a separate cage where she could see them, then put her in with them at dusk. I am amazed at hoe she healed up. Her feathers coming in look good too. Thank you so much for checking on her!
