So recently, we hatched 14 baybie chicks in an incubator. Since we had a brooty chicken, we decided to bring all of the chicks to here, and for the first day, everything seemed fine. The hen took the chicks under her wing and kept a close eye on them, but when the chicks started eating, we noticed that the only way they found food was by them selves. The hen never call chicks to come eat food, and its frustrating to watch. We sometimes give those chicks things like boiled eggs (grated) or cotige cheese and the glutinous hen eats all the tasty stuff and leaves nothing for the chicks.
Its not a huge problom; its just super frustrating. Luckily, all the chicks look healthy with there stomicks full.
I couldn't find anyone with the same issue, so I am willing to experiment because the hen is a great mom, but when it coms to food she flips.
