Hen hasn’t pooped in over 2 days

I found our 5 year old Easter Egger sitting in the nesting box two nights ago, and thinking she was egg bound, brought her in the house for observation. She had very dirty tail feathers and upon inspection, I did not feel an egg stuck so I gave her a tums and let her sleep for the night. In the morning, she still had not pooped nor laid an egg. I gave her a bath, soaked her in epsom salts for 20 minutes or so, gave her a laxative, more calcium and safeguard paste. The only poop she has laid is extremely watery and white. Her crop is empty but her breath is extremely sour. She’s drinking water and a little very wet feed. My gut feeling is that she has a blockage-likely cancer-further down the digestive or reproductive tract, but is there anything else I can or should try? Also, her demeanor is pretty good, color is also good. I’m hoping there’s something I can do but realize it’s not a great situation .

You may be correct on the underlying cause. I have a hen right now I've been treating for sour crop with no progress, and I suspect the same thing with her.

For now, continue with the calcium and be sure she's drinking fluids. The calcium should be around 600mg per day. You may use a stool softener, but a laxative is too harsh for a chicken.

You are correct and I misspoke; it was a stool softener I gave her, not a laxative.I’m going to try a glycerine enema as one last attempt and will continue the calcium. I appreciate your reply & correction!

Sadly, Opal passed away this evening. Her necropsy revealed what I believe to be cancer as well as EYP. She rebounded a bit the last two days, so I was really hoping for the best, but today she took a turn and we knew there was nothing we could do. There is some comfort knowing it wasn’t anything we could fix but didn’t, but each loss is still hard. RIP sweet girl
