I am raising 6 chicks for a friend. They were purchased as a sexed group. I do realize there is a 10% chance to get roos. Here are two each of welsummers and buff bramas. They just look different. There are also two barred rocks who seem huge with pronounced tail feathers. How crazy to have 4 roos in a group of 6 if they are roos.

These guys are just babies and not sexable at hatch. You'll need to suffer and wait until they are 6 weeks old, take new pictures and post back then.

Those are way too young to sex. Try again when they are 5 to 6 weeks old. It's best to have one individual photos of each, one a closeup of the head showing comb and wattles and a shot showing legs, posture, and body shape. It's not always easy even at 5 to 6 weeks but we should be able to give you a pretty good idea.

Thanks. I had my first rooster chick last year. It was fairly obvious now from an early age. These are so different from each other in pretty dramatic ways. I will be shocked if they are not. I will post updated photos at 6 weeks.

Thanks so much. I am relieved to know it is not certain that they are roos. I so want a rooster but am not allowed in my city
