Hen? Or Roo?

My school got some hens about a month ago. We were told they were all young females, about to be at egg laying age. The chicken in question is supposed to be a polish hen. However, this morning she started crowing…. Is she actually a rooster?

Unfortunately, yes that's a cockerel.

I can see his pointed saddle feathers.
