my silkies are 17 weeks old, I have a hen and a rooster. What can I do to make them not run from me as much? Also, ultimate protection tips are welcomed.
I’ve heard if you have one rooster and one hen that he will uh.. over indulge. Is this the same with silkies?

Hand feeding has been the number 1 method that works for me. Also giving them baths really seems to be something they respond well to. I’ve done it with both chickens and turkeys and I can say in my experience a warm bath Or two really did the Trick. As for over breeding it all depends on the rooster but it is a lot more likely than not that he will over do it

May sound dumb but like actual baths or dirt baths? I need to find two more silkie hens near their age, correct? Thank you for being so helpful!

I do an actual water bath in the sink or tub with warm water and they just fall asleep half the time. Then after wards I either blow dry them or dry them off with a towel so they don’t get chilled. It sounds crazy but it works for me. And yes around the same age but it doesn’t have to be. It’s really up to you
