Hello,
So I have a hen I just can not figure out what is going on. Details:
She is a Lavender Orpington and she is 10 months old. She does have the shredder feather gene, but recently something is very off and I can’t figure it out. Her feathers look like they are matted, she does have a little bald spot on one wing and just yesterday it looks like a bald spot on her belly close to vent ( not red). She is acting fine, but I know something isn’t right and I just don’t know what. I have a few other hens acting fine, but one does have some feather loss too in vent areas and I have a EE who stopped laying for almost a month now. I know they can be inconsistent, but not sure if everything is all going together.
Please help I am at a loss. I am not sure if someone is pecking (EE can be mean at moments), infestation, parasite or etc. I know they are all too young to molt, so trying to figure it out. Coop hygiene is good and I clean everyday if not every other day. Attaching pics of my Lavender Orpington, Coco. I didn’t get one of her vent/belly area, because it was a bit too hard to picture. This is her current body feathers situation. TIA!
