Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

We have had chickens for about 4 years now.



How many chickens do you have right now?

Around 30.



What breeds do you have?

Wyandottes, Marans, Barred Rocks, Easter Eggers, Rhode Island Reds, several others.


What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I love watching chicken behavior and having fresh eggs.

I also like learning about how to breed your own sex-links.

I *don't* like chicken ailments and the stress that comes with it. And unsupervised dogs that sometimes come harass our chickens.


What are some of your other hobbies?

Learning!


Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

I found BYC by googling various chicken topics, and I've known a couple of years at least. I decided to finally join to jump on a hybrid thread and ask questions.
