Ya'll come

As long as DH feels good enough to stop at the store after work, we will have roast beast sandwiches with shrooms and provolone on homemade buns. If not it's boxed mac n cheese, over marinaded teriyaki bbqed chicken, and baked beans( I make many mistakes when cooking sick).

we need to go into the city this weekend , hopefully we can go shopping. Must get off computer and go lie down

Thankies, Tutter, been missing y'all as well!!!

Ninja, you done that "deed" yet??? Just make sure there is some good stuff in there first!!! lol Seriously, I felt really bad, cause they had like $400 worth of meat in there. That's not chump change to me, but the meals were great!!!

Tonight will probably be the $5 special from Little Caesar's. I've been feeling all day like it was Friday, so might as well keep pretending...

I'm gonna have to get some TIME and write down everyone's wonderful recipies and put them away....we get so tired of the same old stuff all the time....

The smoked pork from the other day is being reinvented into BBQ pork sandwiches. It's in the crock pot as I type.

I'm going to serve it with baked sweet potato fries and a green salad with choice of dressing.

Last weeks cook out was canceled due to my youngests sudden onset of Scarlet Fever (yeah I know who hears of that anymore) and the hosp diagnosed an early strep throat. So we are having a bonfire tonight for my sons friend (like a son to me) who is leaving for the marines next week, he got delayed 2 weeks. We are doing hot dogs on the fire, smores and mountain pies. My son requested a taco salad I have been making since my girl scout days. Oh and watermelon and of course cake.
1 lb ground beef browned with taco seasoning (to your taste) and dried onion
2 bags lettuce
cherry tomatoes (or chopped but cherry are easy to pick out if you dont like)
about 1/4 cup shreded carrot
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 small can of sliced black olives, drained
2 cups of broken up Doritoes (more or less)

I top with taco sauce but the recipe calls for Catalina dressing, we find that too sweet. Put the dressing on right before you serve.

I love Stouffers lasagne. But it does seem to take forever.

We had hamburger helper tonight - Double Cheesey Quesidila or however you spell that. I added chives and sour cream. That with fresh green salad, homegrown tomatos and fresh buttermilk ranch dressing and garlic bread.

Not bad at all.

Not having the best day; not well, so hope to post more tomorrow.

Fish Steak w/ lemon (Farmer's market day....freshly caught.)
Side of Spaghetti (Leftover sauce made it easy.)
Green Salad
Garlic Toast (Garlic from the garden.)

We had chilled applesauce, fresh cherries and freshly picked peaches for dessert. I washed and fixed the fruit early, then refrigerated it. It tasted pretty good after 100 degree day. The "apple lady" at the farmer's market had that wonderful applesauce she makes waiting for me, since she knows how much I love it (it's better than any I've every had, including my own. She uses a mix of tasty apples, and apple cider, to make it.) as well as the cherries and peaches.

Probably not Yogi. You know everything is NEW and IMPROVED now.

I personally never figured that one out. Either it is NEW or it is IMPROVED. How on earth can it be both?

Thinking of you concerning your other son leaving for the Marines. Where is he going to boot camp? My husband went to San Diego. Then on to Camp Lejuene. Which is where I met, married, and moved too.

Supper is Chicken Dorito Casserole with mashed potatoes, salad, green beans (boiled with butter till falling apart) corn on the cob, and salad. Sweet tea, lemonade, and jello cake.
Tomorrow is a B-B-Q with all the fixings...and Sunday is dinner on the ground (potluck) with the Evangelist and his family...I guess I'm taking a ham and fixings. Probally Possum Pie and coconut pie too. Oh, and my 'special' rolls.
