Hi de hi

I'm a sheep person, too (who also acquired some goats šŸ˜…). It sounds like you have the perfect mix of breeds! I think it's also a mystery to me how I haven't acquired some runner ducks yet...

Welcome to BackYard Chickens!!
I love the idea of the rainbow basketā€¦. So Iā€™m thinking a white layer and actual olive eggers. I might have to find the ā€œguess my chicken breedā€ section for the two supposed OEs. Plus Iā€™m guessing sharing pics of my girls is actively encouraged on this forum- Facebook friends (mostly ex city friends) think weā€™re mad moving to the rural ā€œgood lifeā€.

Ooh whereā€™s the place for goat thingsā€¦. Children are desperate for some kids! Our sheep are great friends to the children, they are ā€œtherapyā€ sheep, so believe they are dogs and want to be hugged/ brushed all day long!
(Letā€™s see if I can actually add the pics of the sheeple people)

Yes, I love the gender ID forum, admittedly probably mostly for the pics! We'd love to see them here or there, if you're willing!

Lambs and kids are the best (okay chicks and I'm sure ducklings, too). But kids are just so friendly, possibly too friendly sometimes, (think 24/7 goat yoga, is what mine are like.)

Oh you donā€™t need to ask me twice to share my girls!!

So the cream leg bars Iā€™m happy are girls- the perfect hatch (6of 6 by clever broody) was very easy to tell.
But the two OEs were hatched by local poultry breeder- apparently eBay eggs.

One Iā€™ve no idea, but sheā€™s a big girl- same size as our silver Sussex. Now 24weeks and did her first ā€œsquatā€ todayā€¦.. will she still lay this side of spring? I wasnā€™t expecting it, but squatting doesnā€™t mean laying, so šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
Then thereā€™s the smaller girl- she might have some silkie in her, extra digit both sides and feathered feet. But then sheā€™s tuftsā€¦.
(Who am I kidding, I know nothing, I just google and stalk BYCs!)

we over babied the introductions with ā€œoldā€ girls and babies, but they are now mixing well. Occasional squabbles, but they all dust bath and eat together, so all seems ok. (Emergency coop/run always ready though- Iā€™m an overthinker!!)

Drat Iā€™m on my phone and canā€™t seem to put pics in to text. The first two are mystery OE 1
Second 2 are mystery 2. These are older pics, so will take better ones tomorrow- obviously wattles etc on number 1 much bigger and redder now

Yes, it looks like there's a chance for green eggs for sure since the first one looks like a Cream Legbar cross (blue egg layer + brown egg layer = green egg layer). It doesn't look like it's crossed with a dark brown egg layer like a Marans or a Welsummer, so my guess is they will be a lighter green. What kind of comb does she have?

The 2nd looks like an adorable Salmon Faverolle or maybe Faverolle cross.

Ooh so thereā€™s hope!!

I thought Olive, first girlie, might have legbar as sheā€™s got the crest (I think thatā€™s the word) that our legbar girls have. But I wasnā€™t sure about her colour and what that might be from- but Iā€™m very new to all the breeds! I think her comb is ā€œstandardā€ like our warrens/ Sussex girls. Not as large, but guessing because sheā€™s still young? Her wattles have grown a lot though and got very red.

Feta girlie 2, is about 20 weeks at the moment. Thatā€™s a brand new breed that I didnā€™t realise also might have the 5th toe but yes she definitely looks similar. Some of her feathers almost appear lilac, but predominately red/brown. Her comb is smaller, but doesnā€™t appear as pea like as the Araucana- not sure what weā€™d be expecting. She also has some ā€œfluffyā€ types appearing on her head. She is definitely sweet and has accepted being bottom of the gangā€¦.. even if itā€™s currently our smallest aracuana who has most attitude this week!

My daughter had some better, more recent, pics if they help?
