(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are very new to chickens but have wanted chickens for awhile now.
We got our first chickens 2 weeks ago
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Started with four and every time we go to North 40 we seem to get two more. Now have 8 new members of our family.
(3) What breeds do you have?
1 Silkie Bantam
1 Sapphire Gem
1 Buff Orpington
1 Cream Legbar
2 Starlight Green egger
2 Ameraucana
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
We love to watch them grow and show their individual personalities.
Also getting everything ready for the different stages of there lives
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Traveling, fishing, hiking and cooking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married to my beautiful wife for five years and together for six.
We have three girls and only chickens as pets now. Always had German shepherd’s and labs but something about chickens has taken me over now.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Before we made the plunge into the chicken life I googled questions and found BYC. Spend hours reading posts to research as much as I can and wanted to be a part of the BYC family.
