Hi from north side of Chicago

I guess I'm coming here a little early, as I plan on driving tomorrow an hour away to buy a coop and chickens. I'm on the north side of Chicago, born and raised in Brooklyn New York. No one I know in the area has chickens. I was motivated to just jump in because if not now then when? Life is too short to wait on life goals. It took a lot of convincing to get my husband to agree. My son is super into sustainability so he is going to be my wing man in this.
My goal is to raise the chickens for eggs. I plan on getting 5 chickens.
