(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, we are new. We got our first chickens at the beginning of June.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
8.
(3) What breeds do you have?
3 Orpingtons, 2 Olive eggers, and 3 Jersey giants.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
How excited they get to see us when we go outside. One chicken as claimed my husband as his favorite person and when he bends down, she will jump onto his shoulder and stay there while he works. She gets upset when it's time to get down.
They're so fun to watch. They have so much more personality than either of us expected. My dogs love watching them too and the chickens are equally fascinated with the dogs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We're pretty big outdoors people and we enjoy building things and gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
There's me, my husband, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a snake.

I've had a lot of questions over the last several months and pretty much anytime that I searched for information, resources from this site came up. I figured it was time to actually join.
